Portrait Masterclass.

Hey all.

As most of you know, I am a big contributer to the Australian Photography Forum. (http://www.photoforum.com.au)

I have recently decided to hold a training session for all with a digital SLR and a passion for portraits, something I have wanted to do for ages. At the moment its set for the 17th of April and being coordinated through this link.

Basics will be covered like:

  • Types of flash modifiers – brollies, softboxes, beauty dishes, scrims, reflectors, gobos and snoots.
  • Types of Equipment, Batteries, flashes, studio strobes, stands, holders and everything else.
  • Manual flash
  • Off camera flash
  • Multiple flashes
  • Reflectors
  • Light balance in portraits
  • Manual exposure
  • Depth of focus
  • The difference between focal lengths
  • How to conduct yourselves in front of models/clients.
  • Picking the right light

    You will need:

  • A DSLR
  • Some lenses, preferably a short and long lens
  • Flashes (if you have them)
  • A notepad to take some tips down
